The most famous of the classic cocktails are probably
the Cuba Libre, invented to toast Cuban Independence in 1902, and the Daiquiri, imbibed in vast quantities, along with the Mojito, by Ernest Hemingway.
Cigars are perhaps the most readily identifiable product from Cuba. Smoked by the great and the good for over 500 years the Havana cigar needs no introduction. In the Cohiba, Montecristo, Romeo y Julietta and Bolivar we
